I recently had the opportunity to meet a family that visited the Restored Hope Remedial Sevices in the Kansas City area. I was impressed with the number of scientifically based interventions recommended to this family.
In the past I've recommended looking into the next step of reading remediation for some children and have suggested the Fast ForWord Program. Ken Schmidt from Restored Hope offers this program, as well the some Lindamood Bell programs (very good as well) and other scientifically backed programs. To find both of these programs offered at one location was wonderful! If you are wanting to dig deeper into your child's learning struggles, this may be a place to check out. I feel confident that the interventions that they are offering here (atleast the ones I've researched) have the ability to change the brain at a foundational level, not just address the symptoms.
