I just watched Uta Frith's Theory of Mind presentation again and am noting the brain areas she's mentioned in which this process happens.
Medial Prefrontal Cortex
Superior Temporal Sulcus
Amygdala -Dr. Alpiner's research shows IM impacts this area
Temporal Poles -
Fusiform Gyrus - tasks processed by the fusiform gyrus came on line with my son Brad's IM training - this areas has to do with face recognition.
Cerebellum - known to be activated in IM
My guess is some of these other areas are impacted by IM training as well as I tend to see gains in Theory of Mind skills post IM. Here's her presentation. You'll need to scroll down to the 2005-2005 presentations, the third one down.
