9 yr old girl hated to read and couldn't focus, but now finds success!

This 9 yr old girl, we'll call her Libby, completed IM training in an very non conventional way.  Living in rural Kansas required that she travel a long distance and  she only came to IM on her days off of school.
Sessions were spread out from August through February of this year for 15 sessions. The family is very supportive and the little girl very intelligent, but she struggled to read due to attention and focus issues and the inability to inhibit.  Mom wrote this note in April of this year, 2 months post IM finishing.

Lori,
I wanted you to see the attached notes from L-----'s teacher on her 4th Quarter Progress Report.  Woo Hoo!!  I am 100% convinced that all of these things are directly attributible to IM.

L----- met her Accelerated Reading goal on the day this report was sent home.
Not only has she never before attained 100% comprehension, but this may be the first time she's met her AR goal this year, and I KNOW it's the first time she's met it half-way thru the quarter.  And on reading, it occurred to me after our meeting the other night that L------ seems to be getting alot more involved in what she reads.  She wants to tell and talk about the stories she reading, something she's not done before.

L------ is very people-oriented, so I know that being able to sit with a group rather than having to be by herself means alot.  She's now able to resist talking in class!!

I had to laugh at the notes about studying.  We never ever study spelling words and she didn't study at home for the science/social studies test either!  Smart little bugger!!

Anyway, I knew you would like to hear these accolades!

Thanks,
T---- T---

Research is based on 3 to 5 days of IM a week and I prefer that intensity, but if need be, spreading IM out can work. When we were done, mom did say she would have preferred the more intense version of IM too. But the student achieved the desired goals anyway.
