I recently received a follow up note from a mom. This is exactly what I want to hear - the child is experiencing a typical childhood - not perfect - but no longer plagued by challenges that rob her of a normal childhood. My son struggled for 17 years and post IM he once commented that he had to 'grieve the lost of his childhood.' Hard to hear, but there was some truth in his statement. Read this mom's letter
